A note from Sarah...
Do you feel (let’s be honest…..REALLY feel) like your board is in your corner?
Do you communicate well with your board? Is your board an asset to your work?
Or do you lose countless nights of sleep leading up to board meetings, navigating board politics, and spend countless hours trying to get them onboard?
In working with nonprofit CEOs - and being one myself along the way - the relationship with the board is, well, often tricky to navigate.
But it’s NOT YOUR FAULT! (And, it’s not their fault either really)…
I’ve personally seen how dysfunction at the board level can muck things up for an entire nonprofit and I’ve teamed up with my friend and colleague Sarah Olivieri, who has done something really important for all of us.
I decided to tackle this issue once and for all and dove into 300 years of US nonprofit board history in order to understand how nonprofit boards have evolved over time. (I won’t bore you with too many details now, but they are fascinating). Anyway, what I found is that board members often do a lot of things that shouldn’t really be their job. And, this needs to change. The nonprofit board structure needs a reboot.
In fact, today’s so-called “best practices” for boards aren’t working and they never have.
So, I began to rethink how to explain to boards what “their job is” and in fact, I have ACTUALLY REDEFINED WHAT THE BOARD’S JOB IS and I’m really excited to be bringing this new training for nonprofit leaders and board members that I think is going to open up some big opportunities for nonprofit leaders like you, who want to stop wasting time on silly board dynamics, and actually spend their time being awesome instead.
This Live Masterclass, “5 Simple Steps to Achieving a High-Performing Nonprofit Board” can take your board from being overworked and ineffective to being highly engaged while doing less and accomplishing more…
